Everyone has friends who have friends who know someone who sets them up with someone else who knew the first person's second uncle's niece's hairdresser and blah blah blah. We all have heard of people who've achieved success with newfound love by being set up through matchmaking dating. Of course, we tend to turn away from such ideas with distaste and even disbelief, but maybe there's really something to this system of hooking up with a future lover.
The natural tendency to scoff at the effectualness of matchmaking dating is understandable. While most of us have heard of this means of getting together with what is essentially a blind date set up by friends or acquaintances, there should be some room for credibility. After all, we've all met at least one person who is happily dating or wed due specifically to this type of pre-mating "ceremony" if you can call it that (go ahead, call it that, why not).
The reasons to hold back our dubitable feelings tend to come from our past luck with dating in general, which is often bad. However, the truth is that while many people don't generally like fruit, nearly everyone has at least one type of fruit that they'll allow into their mouths and stomachs. What this means is that there are other forms of dating and if the traditional methods have failed, maybe it's time to move on to something new, like matchmaking dating.
The reality is that how two people meet -in this case by formal introduction by a third party known to both people, offers a stimulating difference to the beaten path of regular dating. In fact, it clears the way for both people, in a sense, as they each have a common endorsement from a person they both know and (hopefully) trust. In the course of life and dating, risks must be accepted to gain anything, and nothing could be truer of matchmaking dating. I know it all sounds a bit far-fetched, but it was verified and certified to me by my mother's cousin's CPA's grandson, who has had some experience with such dealings.
